I’ve taken up a few new hobbies in the past year, and one my favorites has been infusing vodka and other liquors. I’ve done all sorts of fun things, from oatmeal cookie infused bourbon, blueberry lavender infused tequila, and last week – candy cane vodka.
This was definitely the easiest one, as it didn’t require too much straining — the candy canes just disintegrated int the vodka. It turned into a bright red, festive masterpiece if I’m being honest, but coming up with ways to use it was a challenge (although a fun one, I’ll admit.)
After a few different things, I settled on a favorite, this peppermint hot chocolate martini. It’s not hot, but it is made with hot chocolate, so it’s creamy and chocolatey with a hint of peppermint. With a candy cane graham cracker rim, it’s a festive holiday treat that is not just another cookie.
