Put the cacao, maple sugar, turmeric, cinnamon, pepper, and sea salt in a saucepan. Add 1/4 cup water and bring to a boil. Whisk until smooth - mixture might be kind of thick.
Add the milk, stir and heat over medium low until hot.
Add about 2-3 ounces hot coffee to a mug. Fill with the turmeric hot chocolate. Add additional steamed and frothed milk if desired.
Serve hot.

Storing leftovers: Leftover hot chocolate can be stored in a jar in the fridge for up to 3 days.
