Bruleed Berry Oats

steel cut oats

cup
rolled oats

teaspoon
vanilla extract
1/2
cup
fresh berries
2
tablespoons
raw sugar
Additional fresh berries
for serving
Instructions
Put the oats in a small saucepan with 1 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes, depending on your preference.
Add the vanilla and the berries and turn the heat off. Cover and let sit for 5 minutes.
Divide between bowls and sprinkle the sugar on top.
Using a kitchen torch, carefully caramelize the sugar on top.
Serve with more berries if desired.
